To guide you through that forest of exploration in a structured way, this roadmap may help you on your way to better online findability:

  1. Think out your overall strategy; What do you want to achieve and why? How do you think you will do that and what do you think you will need to do so?
  2. SEO is the shelf life of your online findability; 'Where social media comes and goes, Google will always be around.' 'Submitting' your website to search engine optimisation is lengthy, complicated, but oh so necessary. An investment that will pay off very sustainably. So start with this right away and engage an SEO agency if necessary. After all, there is a lot involved and you need to continue building on other elements within your empire.
  3. After search engine optimisation comes conversion optimisation; The two are somewhat an extension of each other within SEO, but effectively increasing your conversion rate can of course always be done more and better. Much is based on neuroscience and is sometimes even called neuromarketing these days. Here, well-designed marketing funnels determine your online findability. Do some research in advance and get help from specialised marketers in this field. This often involves all those different forms of marketing like content marketing, e-mail marketing, display marketing, etc.
  4. No budget? Then affiliate marketing might be for you; In affiliate marketing, business owners or product owners 'reward' their so-called affiliates for the realised sales or leads they provide. So, promoting your services and products on commission basis. This is on the 'no cure no pay' principle. Do research and enlist help!
  5. Your expertise is valuable to your target audience; Whatever your specialism and business, you are the experience expert in this field that your target audience should lean on. Share the knowledge by offering membership. Your own login portal with e-learnings, VIP offers, trainings and courses, webinars, etc. And all exclusively for your loyal members!
  6. What is good sells itself; Build that community! Do you offer subscriptions? Or can your customer opt for a membership? You are not above your target group, but in the middle of it! Belonging somewhere, group building, it's so powerful! Go online (and perhaps offline) on a non-violent crusade, so to speak!
